Bit keepers, also called bit loops, are an essential piece of horse tack when using a snaffle bit/bridle. They attach from the top of a full cheek bit to the bridle strap to keep the cheek pieces upright and prevent sideways movement as well as forward rotation. Bit keepers also enable optimum communication to the opposite side of your horse’s muzzle when a single rein is used. Our Grewal Equestrian Leather Bit Keepers are made of high quality, top-grain leather that is built to last. Easy to attach, the smaller loop goes over the top cheek piece and the bigger loop goes on the inside of the cheek piece.
